The SK:AI:AT project has entered its implementation phase! As partners of the national consortium – the Computing Centre of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (VS SAV) and the Faculty of Informatics and Information Technologies of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (FIIT STU) – we came together for an internal kick-off meeting to align on the first steps, priorities and ambitions of the project.
The project is only just getting started, but our ambitions are high. Our goal is to systematically support Slovak and European companies in adopting and making effective use of artificial intelligence, connect them with experts across the European AI Factories network, and provide access to the computing infrastructure they need. At the same time, we want to create an environment where AI talent can develop, collaborate and grow professionally. Our services will include training opportunities as well as closer technical collaboration on chosen use cases.
SK:AI:AT is Slovakia’s contribution to the European AI Factories ecosystem, an initiative of the European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) under the Horizon Europe programme. Working closely with our strategic partner, AI Factory Austria, the project aims to strengthen Slovakia’s AI ecosystem and make advanced AI and HPC infrastructure, expertise, training and innovation support more accessible to researchers, businesses and the public sector.
With the first coordination meetings behind us, our teams are gradually growing. We look forward to bringing together expertise from across our partner institutions and turning the ambitions of SK:AI:AT into concrete services, new opportunities and tangible benefits for the Slovak and European AI community.
