Currently Open Calls
Testing and Benchmarking Access
The call for Testing and Benchmarking Access is open continuously throughout the year. Applications may be submitted at any time exclusively through the User Portal.
This access scheme is primarily intended for collecting performance data on applications, parallelisation efficiency, scalability, and storage requirements prior to applying for Standard Project Access. It may also be used for smaller projects with limited computational and time requirements.
Access is provided free of charge, subject to compliance with all conditions defined in the Call Conditions. Applications must clearly justify the need to use and evaluate HPC resources. Submitted projects are assessed by the internal team of the SAS Computing Centre.
Call opening date: 31 March 2026
Application deadline: Continuous throughout the year
Notification of approval: Within 2 weeks of project submission
Eligible applicants: Researchers and scientists from Slovak public universities, the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and public administration institutions. Access is provided exclusively for civilian, non-commercial, open-science research and development activities.
Maximum project duration: 6 months
Available allocation per project:
- 50,000 CPU core-hours and 780 GPU-hours on Devana
- 50,000 CPU core-hours and 780 GPU-hours on Perun
Available systems:
- Devana HPC System
- Perun HPC System
Standard Access to HPC Resources 2/26
Standard access to HPC resources is open to all scientific disciplines and research domains, particularly for larger-scale projects. Projects should demonstrate scientific excellence in their field and a clear potential to deliver innovative solutions to current societal and technological challenges.
Applications must demonstrate the efficiency and scalability of the proposed computational methods and workflows within an HPC environment. Relevant performance data for algorithms and applications can be obtained through the Testing and Benchmarking Access scheme.
Allocations are granted for one (1) year, with the possibility of requesting an extension if required.
Projects are technically evaluated by the internal team of the SAS Computing Centre, while the scientific quality of the proposal is typically assessed by two independent external reviewers.
Call opening date: 4 May 2026
Application deadline: 1 June 2026, 17:00 CET
Notification of results: Within 2 weeks of the application deadline
Start of allocation usage: Approximately 16 June 2026
