SIVVP and AUREL (Decommissioned)

The well-known Aurel supercomputer, the first publicly accessible supercomputer in Slovakia, was procured and operated within the framework of the Slovak Infrastructure for High-Performance Computing (SIVVP) project.

The preparatory phase of the project began in 2008. In 2012, not only the Aurel system but also several computing systems at partner institutions were installed. Based on the experience gained during the first phase, the Aurel supercomputer and other computing resources within the SIVVP project were expanded in 2014.

The Aurel supercomputer remained in operation until 2021. Through the use of Aurel and other SIVVP systems, researchers produced more than 300 high-quality scientific outputs.
